Perforated Slat
| The slats that make up the curtain come in two types, perforated and non-perforated. The top of the slat has an 8mm hook hinge which attaches to the bottom of the next slat. When the curtain is being raised the slats have a 4mm gap, this gap then allows the curtain to be wound tightly around the round axle. In this gap you will see the perforations which are 15mm x 2mm and are spaced every 15mm. The curtain can be stopped before it is fully extended this gives you the option of being able to see through the curtains perforations and allowing air flow |

These perforations are not on our Security Rollershutters, the Security Rollershutter is an extruded slat profile ideal for commercial use or where added strength and security is required. The profile itself has a hollow section and is available in a 40mm curved slat. You can view this product at securityrollershutters.com.au |

Is the outside concave
| The rollershutter slat on the outside is concave. This curved shape of the slat provides minimal roll sizes and optimal lateral strength. This also helps to keep the headbox size to a minimum. Rollershutters started in Europe where they are inbuilt at the time of construction of the dwelling in which the head box is in the cavity of the wall which is opposite to installation in Australia. All Rollershutters in Australia are of European design. Ozroll's machines are from Germany and they supply 80% of the Rollershutter market in Australia |

Large window
The best solution for a large window spanning up to 4200mm, is to use a Commercial Rollershutter which incorporates a 55mm curved foam filled slat profile with 76 mm x 28 mm heavy duty guide and bottom bar. This is a double walled cavity, curved 55mm profile with PU foam injected during the roll forming process. This process provides economical strength and the insulation qualities while maintaining exceptional performance of the slat. The curved shape of the slat provides minimal roll sizes and optimal lateral strength.

Cable Hole
The best way to drill the Cable Hole for an In-Reveal Rollershutters installation,
is to mark the exact position of the Cable Hole in the reveal, and drill
a 12mm hole 5mm deep.
From this starter hole you can now drill a 10mm hole at about 30-60 degree
angle, this angel determines how close or how far away the controller will
be from the window. This hole then gives you a straight cable hole, from
the reveal to the back of the wall plate. This hole is then covered by the
controller's wall plate which is 75mm wide, which will cover up most misaligned
holes. We have found this to be the best way
This hole will need a 300mm x 10mm masonry drill bit depending on wall thickness
these drill bits generally cost around $15 - $20
The height of the Rollershutters is the over all height which includes
the head box.

Hand wind rollershutters
Sorry but we don't supply hand wind rollershutters, we have found that
they are too difficult for people to install, unless you can get a experienced
rollershutter installer, in that case we can help, but they would cost the
same price as a battery rollershutter, which is just push a button, and
walk away and let the controller do the work. So that is why we will only
supply battery or electric rollershutters
Fitting a rollershutter to a corner window
| You will need 2 adjustable corner plate and one of the rollershutters must be 22mm longer (the guides are 22mm thick) this allows you to fix the face of one guide to the edge of the other guide creating a 90dergee angle in which the corner plate is riveted. The other end of the corner plate is then fastened to the window frame, the corner plate is adjustable so it can fit onwall or inreveal fixings. The corner plate comes in the colours of the box and guides the adjustable corner plate is $40 |

How to measuring your corner window for a
rollershutter
| Measure the depth of the reveal, and then mark this depth on the corner of the sill, on these two points draw a line on the corner end on of the sill, do this to both sides, this will give you the exact inside corner of the guides. The guides are 22mm thick so add 22mm to one rollershutter, this will allow one guide to lap fully over the other guide so they can be fastened together. Don't forget to add the 55mm to the other end so it can be fixed onwall (for onwall fixing only). IR (in-reveal) is the same principal, the distance from the window frame must be the same distance on both ends |

Bay Window how to measure
The principal is the same for IR in reveal or OW on wall. IR installation
is approximately 40mm from the window frame, the guides each side that support
the roller shutter are 55mm which may interfere with outward opening windows
if this accrues use OW installation
Measure the depth of the reveal, and then mark this depth at the opposite
side on the sill, on these two points draw a line in pencil on the corner
end on of the sill, do this to both sides, then mark the depth of the reveal
on the left and right hand side of the front window on these two points
draw a straight line at both ends where they intersect the two side marks
that you marked earlier this will give you the exact inside corner of the
guides,
Don't forget to add 55mm to the 2 side roller shutters so it can be fixed
OW (for OW fixing only)
For a bay window you will need 4 adjustable corner plates, these corner
plates are fastened to the two outer corners of the bay window's, window
frame, and to the back of the rollershutter guides, this then gives full
support to the rollershutter on each corner. The corner plates are adjustable
so it can fit onwall or inreveal fixings. The corner plate comes in the
4 colours of the box and guides, the adjustable corner plate are $40 each
Can Rollershutters Operate on an Angle?
No, rollershutters need the weight of the curtain to fully close and for the curtain to move freely down the guides. If the curtain doesn't move freely the curtain will unwind in the head box.
Battery Controller
|
When the controller is fully charged it will open and close your average size rollershutter 40 times before recharging. The battery in the controller should last about 5 years. A new battery controller costs $125 each inc. GST & Postage & Handling. Please contact us for banking details We will then send you a new controller Air express allow 5 working days |

One window has a 12mm greater width a the top, The shutters are to be installed in reveal, is there a recommended way to pack out this difference or any solutions?
The best solution is to install the rollershutter on the wall not in the
reveal or
| 2 aluminium angles 24mm x 22mm or 24mm x 46mm the same colour as the box and guide can be supplied. The angle is then fixed to the wall, then fixed to the guide this will take up the 12mm | ![]() |
